Hippie Hibachi, nestled in Atlanta's vibrant 1235 Makers Building, is making waves in the vegan dining scene. Customers can’t stop raving about the delectable hibachi offerings, which include innovative substitutes like Chick'n, Mushroom, and Shr'mp. The flavors are impressive – with reviewers delighting in the meaty texture of the mushrooms, the well-spiced tofu, and the thrilling heat from sauces like Spicy Gochu and the beloved Yum Yum. Thomas Forman Jr.'s enthusiasm reflects a broader sentiment: you don't need to be vegan to appreciate the culinary genius here. The quick service, typically under ten minutes, adds to the appeal, allowing patrons to enjoy their meals without a lengthy wait. The atmosphere is lively, with a welcoming staff that enhances the dining experience. Though the portions and prices can feel slightly upscale, the quality of the dishes justifies it. Some customers suggest the yum yum sauce could benefit from a hint of acidity for balance, but overall, diners leave satisfied and eager to return. From a tantalizing tofu plate to delightful shrimp alternatives, Hippie Hibachi is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor flavorful, plant-based hibachi cuisine. It's a bright spot in the food hall, perfect for vegans and non-vegans alike – a genuine culinary gem in Atlanta!

Wowwww! So first off I'm not vegan but this food is amazing! I don't eat any seafood so eating a vegan version of the foods I can't / don't eat is something I love to do and the shrimps taste and texture is absolutely incredible! Will definitely be back to try all of options, first go around I had shrimp and mushrooms and it's gonna be hard not to order it again! Trust 2 Chainz and eat [Hippie] Hibachi for Lunch!

Wow. This is the best hibachi I've ever had and I'm so happy it's vegan. The rice was delicious, the mushrooms tasted meaty, the vegetables were refreshing, and the chick'n tasted like the real thing. Don't even get me started on the yum yum sauce or gochujang sauce. The water (liquid death) was the best water I've ever had! Who knew water could be that good. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The ambience of the entire market was delightful. This will be my first stop when I visit Atlanta again. What a delight for vegans who rarely get hibachi!

I love hibachi. I love vegan food. This seemed like a no brained. The food does take a while to cook so order and go ahead and just walk the area. Portions are very good. The price is a bit up there. Just slightly expensive. I really wish there was some way you could get a combination of meats as opposed to ordering another serving. The food was solid, fresh and tasty. The meat selection is pretty amazing. The yum yum sauce which to me might be the most critical thing in hibachi was a bit soso. I get the sauce is vegan but it was just a mayo sauce. I mean mayo is literally oil but it just added to the richness of the whole dish. So it made it feel more heavy. Some acidity like vinegar or lemon juice, along with some mirin would really help the sauce.

Hippie Hibachi is a 100% Vegan Hibachi food retailer that sits inside the 1235 Makers Building @ 1235 Chattahoochee Ave NW STE 130, Atlanta, GA 30318. It is open a minimum of 7 Days / week from Noon - 8 PM and even until 10PM Thursday - Saturday. We ordered one hibachi dish with tofu, shrimp, egg, and spicy sauce. The other was ordered with Mushroom, Tofu, and YumYum sauce. The food was ready for consumption in under ten minutes, served perfectly hot, and the owner Josh was helpful not only for walking us through the menu but also in recommending other vegan eateries and places for us to day hike. The maker building that Hippie Hibachi is located in is a hotbed for delicious food. Under its roof you can find atleast 20 other unique food vendors with signs of construction for more to come. Despite all of that, I recommend giving your money to hippie hibachi first. Never before have I seen all of my favorites from hibachi restaurants on a 100% vegan menu! Great Work Hippies. 5 Stars

Okay, so ... DANG. This is sooooooooooooo good, wowowowowow. I got the tofu plate and.. man... the spices that are used for this tofu are amazing. It's not spicy. It's just spiced with herbs so well. The rice & veggies are delicious as well. I'm so glad that I didn't pass on this option - it's hard because it's located in a food hall, and there are many different vendors that have vegan/vegetarian options. But, don't sleep on this place. Aside from the fact that there's no cross-contamination, the food is bomb. Don't make the mistake of skipping this place. It's fireeeeee!!! And the staff are so nice. Next time, I'm trying the soy chikin one!!

I love trying new spots, and Hippie Hibachi did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and the food was amazing! I had the vegan chick'n and my husband had the impossible plate. The proteins portions were perfectly sized and the rice/veggie portions were generously sized. We opted to eat outside, however, there are also indoor spaces within the mall area. I can't wait to go back! That Yum Yum sauce is to die for! June 2022 - I went back to Atlanta last week and tried the tacos that I had seen on their social media posts. OMG... absolutely delicious! I had the tofu tacos. They had just the write spice and the tofu was grilled to perfection. The fried rice on the side was perfect! I hope they are able to add the tacos to the menu! I forgot to get pics before I devoured the tacos.

This spot is delicious and was one of my first serious dives into vegan food. Here I cannot even tell the difference and would rate this as higher than a lot of hibachi I have eaten that is not vegan. Prices can be high - but the quality of the food matches what you pay for.

I was absolutely blown away by how amazingly tasty and healthy this food was. The Hippie Plate was extremely tasty and filling. I’m so glad to have found a vegan place in Atlanta. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant. I ordered the Hippie Plate with sauteed oyster mushrooms and tofu. The tofu was nice and crunchy! I was highly impressed, satisfied and happy :)
